An ultra-light composite propane bottle for camping, caravanning, portable BBQs and pizza ovens. Just 4.4kg when full, with a POL screw-in valve and a translucent body that shows the gas level at a glance.

The 2.4kg cylinder is the smallest bottle Gas2Go supplies and the easiest to carry — 4.4kg full, which is light enough to lift with one hand and load without help. It is fitted with a POL screw-in valve, giving a secure threaded connection to the regulators and hoses used on most portable propane equipment.

Its compact size is the real advantage. At 350mm tall and 216mm across it fits gas lockers, camper cupboards and boat stowage where a 5kg bottle simply will not go, and the translucent body means you can see what is left rather than shaking it and hoping.

What it is for

  • Camping stoves and portable gas BBQs
  • Portable pizza ovens
  • Caravans, motorhomes, campervans and camper trailers
  • Boats and yachts
  • Portable propane heaters
  • Fishing and shooting trips, festivals and outdoor events

It is the obvious choice anywhere weight and storage space matter more than runtime.

Why composite instead of steel

Steel bottles are heavy, awkward to carry and rust wherever the paint chips. A composite cylinder solves all three.

  • Light enough to carry one-handed — 4.4kg full, 2kg empty
  • Translucent body, so the gas level is visible without weighing or guessing
  • Will not rust or corrode, and has no paint to chip or mark a vehicle
  • Ergonomic carry handle and a wide opening that makes fitting a regulator straightforward
  • Non-metallic construction that cracks and vents in a fire rather than exploding
  • RFID-tagged, so every individual bottle is traceable, and certified to EN14427

POL valve compatibility

This cylinder uses a POL screw-in valve, so it suits appliances and regulators built for a standard POL propane connection — camping equipment, portable BBQs and pizza ovens, outdoor cooking gear, marine installations, portable heaters, and caravan or motorhome systems where a POL regulator is fitted.

If you are not sure whether your appliance takes a POL connection, ask us and we will identify the right regulator or hose before you commit.

Why buy through Gas2Go

No driving between merchants hoping someone has a bottle in stock, and no wrestling a rusting steel cylinder into the boot. Tell us what you need and we will arrange it — delivered across Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and the Welsh borders, or collected from one of our stockists.

Every cylinder in the range is composite rather than steel, so you always know how much gas is left, and changing a bottle stops being a two-person job.

Send us an enquiry about the 2.4kg propane cylinder and we will come straight back to you with availability and a delivery date.

What appliances can I use this cylinder with?

Portable BBQs, camping stoves, pizza ovens, caravans, campervans, boats, portable heaters and most other propane appliances that use a POL connection.

What type of valve does it have?

A POL screw-in valve, which gives a secure threaded connection to compatible propane regulators and hoses.

How long will 2.4kg of propane last?

It depends entirely on the appliance. A portable camping stove will run for many hours on one cylinder, while a pizza oven or BBQ burns through it considerably faster. For most leisure use, 2.4kg is a good balance between portability and runtime.

Is it suitable for camping and caravanning?

Yes. The compact dimensions and low weight are exactly why it exists — it fits gas lockers and camper stowage that a 5kg bottle will not, and it is easy to carry across a campsite.

How is it different from a steel cylinder?

It is considerably lighter, it will not rust or corrode, and the translucent body lets you see how much gas remains. Steel bottles give you none of those.

Can I exchange my empty cylinder?

Yes. Send us an enquiry for a refill, or exchange it at one of the Gas2Go stockists listed on our stockists page.
